Face Lift
Face lift surgery (also known as rhytidectomy) is the most effective cosmetic treatment for loose facial skin and wrinkles. After surgery, patients will have tighter, smoother skin that fits the face well and appears very natural. Face lift surgery has helped many patients look more youthful and feel more self-confident.
Modern face lift surgery is performed through incisions concealed behind the hairline. Through these incisions, Dr. Yenikomshian first repositions the underlying muscles of the face, tightening them with sutures to restore firmness to the tissues beneath the skin. Next, he stretches and tightens the facial skin, trimming away the excess and re-draping the remaining skin over the facial muscles before closing the incisions.
A face lift is a major surgical procedure, and patients should expect a period of recovery following their surgery. Most of Dr. Yenikomshian’s face lift patients in San Jose, near Los Gatos and the Bay Area, are able to return to work within two weeks of surgery, but exercise should be avoided for up to a month, and total healing may take a few months. Recovery time varies widely depending on the extent of the specific procedure. Neck Lift
As a result of the natural aging process or the loss of a significant amount of weight, many people develop loose, drooping skin on the neck. A neck lift can help to restore a more graceful neck contour for anyone concerned by the appearance of his or her neck. In some cases, Dr. Yenikomshian may be able to achieve the best results by combining neck lift surgery with liposuction, BOTOX® injections, or another such procedure.
Neck lift surgery is usually performed through small incisions concealed behind the ears and beneath the chin. Techniques vary depending on the case, but Dr. Yenikomshian typically tightens the neck muscles before trimming away and removing any excess tissue and lifting the neck skin to its new position. Finally, the skin is sutured in place for healing.
Neck lift patients at our San Jose practice, located near Los Gatos, typically experience recovery times similar to those of face lift patients. Most are able to return to work after about two weeks and resume exercising and other physical activity after about a month. It may take three months or more to heal completely. Once the recovery period is complete, neck lift patients will be able to show off a firmer, more elegantly shaped neck that evokes youth and vitality.
