Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that improves the nose’s appearance by modifying its size, width, profile, tip, and symmetry. The Rhinoplasty Procedure

Prior to surgery, Dr. Yenikomshian personally consults with each patient to discuss his or her treatment goals, preexisting medical conditions, and previous surgeries. In planning their surgery, he also considers factors such as the severity of the problem, the nasal anatomy, and the surrounding facial features.

Rhinoplasty is an outpatient surgery performed under general anesthesia. To begin, Dr. Yenikomshian draws guidelines on the nose to mark where he will make any necessary incisions. Next, he administers the general anesthesia. He then makes tiny incisions in the nose, through which he removes or repositions cartilage. Finally, he closes the incisions and applies a splint to help the nose maintain its new shape. Patients who undergo septum surgery receive nasal packing, which is typically removed within a few days. The stitches and splint are usually removed one to two weeks after the procedure.

Dr. Yenikomshian may recommend other treatments to bring the nose into harmony with surrounding features.
